Wahingdoh juniors end South African safari with a win

Another strong performance saw Royal Wahingdoh’s U-17 team conclude their Future Champions 2014 adventure with a win over China’s Shandong Luneng via a tiebreaker (4-3) on Saturday at Gauteng, South Africa.

The match was a near repeat of their previous outing against former Premier Soccer League title holders Supersport United’s junior team where they also won 4-3.

At the end of regulation time, the scores were tied at 1-1 with Loken Meitei scoring for the Royals. Wahingdoh gave Shandong a tough time as they played in accordance with their trademark ‘pass n play’ strategy.  With the match going into tiebreaker, Royal Wahingdoh eventually got one better of their opponents to finish the game 4-3.

Royal Wahingdoh FC finally end their Future Champions run with two wins, two draws, and a loss.
