According to Sports Rooter, Bayer Leverkusen have sacked Sami Hyypia and the youth team head coach Sascha Lewandowski has taken over first-team duties until the end of the season.
Leverkusen managed to win just 3 games out of the last 14, where they were once hoping to qualify for the Champions League next season.
The Finnish manager's contract was due to expire in the summer of 2015.
