Joseph stars as Sporting beat Sesa FA

Sporting club de Goa started Airtel Goa Super league campaign with 2-0 victory over Sesa Football Academy at Duler Stadium, Mapsua on Friday

Promising striker Joseph periera secured all three point for the flaming orange as he scored brace.Striker Jerry came close to breaking deadlock in 11th minute when his header from Prathesh's free kick bounced inches above the crossbar.

Boima Jerry who was at the heart of every positive move darted inside the box and fired an inviting cross across the face of goal and Joseph Periera arrived at the far post to tap into an empty net.

Sesa FA showed that they lacked match fitness as it was a long break from competitive football for them.However,after Sporting took a single goal lead, Sesa woke up and started to attack even they could create some half chances.

As match progressed spectators witnessed more competitive football as both team started to attack each other.Sesa though they had the much wanted equalizer in the 30th minute when Yogesh Kadam netted the ball but the linesman had his flag raised for an offside.

Sporting managed to keep the solitary goal lead until the end of first half.

The half time pep talk from coach Clifford Chukuwama seemed to take immediate effect as SESA were a rejuvenated side after the break.

And Sesa went close on several occasion but Sporting quelled any doubt of comeback when the duo of Boima and Joseph combined yet again in the  70th minute.Boima did well to dribble past two defenders and passed the ball to Joseph who drove the ball into the net.

Sesa did not let the scoreline deter them as it was harsh on them and continued to press forward and the play attacking mode of football they are known for.

But the back line of sporting consisting of Joyner, Gonzalo,Rojen singh and Rowan periera saw off the pressure to secure full three point.

Joyner Laurenco was the man of the match and Joseph Periera recived the honors for the goal of the match.
