Armando Colaco, one of the most successful coaches in Indian Football has been appointed as the Head Coach of Kingfisher East Bengal. He is expected to reach Kolkata on Monday.
The AFC ‘A’ Licence coach and AFC Instructor Armando had had won two NFL titles and three I League titles during his regime at Dempo.
Armando Colaco's Career as a Coach:
1985-1988 Salcete Football Club, Goa. The Club won Stafford Cup during his regime.
1988-1989 Sesa Goa. During his regime the club won Vitthal Trophy.
1989-1990 Dempo SC, Goa. During his stint as coach won Pomes Cup and Scissors Cup.
After his one year stint with Dempo, Armando successfully coached the Goa state U-21 Santosh Trophy team partnering Peter Vales and also Goa U-23 team at the B C Roy trophy in the early 90s.
1994-2000 Churchill Brothers, Goa. He joined as Coach first and in 1995 became the Technical Director when Danny Mclaren was roped in as a coach during the period. Switching his base from Dempo to Churchill in the 90s, Armando had announced his arrival as a seasoned coach with three Goa League titles and an NFL runner-up trophy with Churchill Bros and also a foray into AFC Cup.
2000-2013 Dempo SC, Goa During his regime, Dempo SC had won two NFL titles and three I League titles. He also won Federation Cup and Durand Cup with the club and had also guided Dempo to reach AFC Cup semifinal in 2008.
