Nabi may start vs Churchill

Having registered a 1-0 win over Mumbai FC in their last I-League match, Mohammedan Sporting seemed to have hit the right form.
They went on to win the Calcutta Football League matches and such has been their domination that they thrashed Police AC 7-0 the other day. They will now hope to carry on the winning momentum when they host the defending champions Churchill Brothers in an Airtel I-League match at the Salt Lake Stadium on Saturday.
“True that there is a huge gulf between the CFL and the I-League, but then those were really confidence-boosting wins. The team is on a high and we are playing as a unit. If we can continue to perform in the same vein, then I see no reason why we cannot defeat Churchill,” said Mohammedan Sporting coach Abdul Aziz Moshood.
If the wins buoyed Mohammedan Sporting, Syed Rahim Nabi would add more verve to the side. Nabi is expected to make his first start in I-League this season.
For Mohammedan Sporting, the Brazilians Josimar and Luciano Sabrosa have been their standout performers with the former being the top-scorer of the league with seven goals. Mohammedan Sporting have 10 points from eight matches.
Mohammedan Sporting’s opponents, on the other hand, will be eager to open their account.
With three draws and five defeats, Churchill Brothers will be eager to return to form.
