The Liverpool squad is a bit banged up mid-season. Captain and midfielder Steven Gerrard has been out, striker Daniel Sturridge has been out a month with an ankle injury. Midfielder Joe Allen has been dealing with a hip problem.
That has Liverpool looking to get some new players potentially.
“We’ll be looking at different players and I’m sure there are targets, if we want or need them, to bring in,” assistant manager Colin Pascoe said. ”You get your targets, whatever you want, you go out and assess certain things — nothing changes.
“At any club, you will get injuries. Unfortunately for us, we had one or two close together, but all the targets we are looking for will still remain the same.”
One thing is for certain, they’ll be holding on to Raheem Sterling. The youngster has been linked to a loan to Swansea City, but given how well he has played when given the chance, Liverpool wants to keep him.
“We just laughed at that, really. Raheem has been brilliant this season. He won’t be going anywhere.”
