National United beat Delhi United


National United Sporting Club scored a 6-2 emphatic win over Delhi FC in a round - robin super league match of the DLF - ONGC - Delhi Soccer Association ( DSA ) Annual Senior Division Open Clubs Football League Championship- 2013 - 14 being held at Dr. Ambedkar Stadium here today.


Nigerian recruit Stephen Harry put National United Sporting Club 1-0 ahead in 8th minute. Delhi United's foreign national recruit Abewunii levelled score 1 - 1 in 32nd minute. Winners' A. Jeez Omaolapo increase score 2 - 1 in 43rd minute. Anup Rawat made it 3 - 1 in 45th minute. Delhi United's Abewunii reduced margin 2 - 3 in 71st minute.National United's Kan Metai scored 4 - 2 in 66th minute while A. Jeez struck a brace in 76th and 85th minute completed tally 6 - 2.

 National United completed their engagements by getting 8 points from 7 games while Delhi United finished their matches by getting 5 points from 7 matches,Defending champions- IOCL Garhwal Heroes is leading the table with 16 points from 7 matches while newly promoted Indian National FC have so far collected 14 points from 6 matches. Hindustan FC is having 13 points from 6 matches. Tarun Sangha has 8 points rfom 6 matches while Delhi FC have 6 points from 6 matches.


Prior to the championship deciding match scheduled tomorrow at 2. 30 pm among Indian National FC and Soultrean - Bonjour Hindustan FC , Delhi FC will take on Tarun Sangha FC for fourth place match at 12. 30 pm at Dr.Ambedkarkar Stadium. Sponsors DLF group executive director Mr. Rajeev Talwar will be the chief guest on the occasion to distribute prizes while ONGC Sports Head Mr. V. K. Mahendroo and COSCO India managing director Mr. N. K. Jain will be guest of honours.AIFF vice-president, DSA president & former Delhi Vidhan Sabha speaker Mr. Subhash Chopra will preside over the function.
