118th IFA Shield 2014:United Sports Club geared up to face Geylang International

Last time IFA Shield winner United Sports Club will be playing out their crucial match of the Group-A in the 118th IFA-Shield against Geylang International of Singapore today at the Saltlake Stadium on 6.00 p.m.

It's the battle in between Kolkata and Singapore, but this time its Geylang International. After Bushan SunMoon, this is the another foreign side of the group to face stiff challenge from Purple side.
The momentum is surely with the Purple Brigade and they will look to cash in on the opportunity to brighten their chance for the semi-final with all three points against The S-League side
The S-League Club Geylang International of Singapore with an amazing history, already they managed to earn one point against Bushan SunMoon. United SC also stay on the table with three points.
As a matter of fact, all four foreigners of the team practiced in full enthusiasm, but it was the challenging task for the team as Ranti Martins, the United talisman will be missing on todays match after getting sent off in a controversial decision against East Bengal on their last group match.
Anjan Nath, the coach of the side told that he expects it to be a strong encounter for his side.

"We are up against a team that has played AFC Cup in the recent past. This will be a tough match for us. We have not the full squad available, Baldeep will be come in the squad. I have told the players to play for three points, we need to be cautious and also need to win this match, when we have good chance to go to the semifinal." Nath told the press after the practice.
Lal Kamal Bhowmick was pleased as their team performed well in the last two matches. He said: "The game won't be easy, but we have beaten foreign team like Bushan SunMoon in the first match on the IFA Shield and we will to take positives from it."
Youngsters like, Rafique, Baldeep have performed reasonably well for the United SC this season. Experienced customer like Eric Brown, Lalkamal Bhowmick, Sneashish, Bello and Dipak Mandal give optimum stability and spark in Geylang's roster.
Probable Team Squad: Abhijit (GK), Deepak, Dhanachandra, Bello, Anupam, Lal Kamal, Asif, Sneashish, Rafiq, Baldeep, Eric.
The match kicks off at 6.00 PM IST Today.
