Former Nigerian International midfielder Martins Ekwueme has signed for Sporting club de Goa on a short term contract.
Following the termination of his contract with Flota Swinoujscie, he is free to sign for any club of his choice despite the window being closed.
Speaking to allnigeriasoccer.com, the 28 - year - old said : “I have signed a contract with Sporting Club de Goa till the end of the season.“At the end of the season, I will evaluate the options available to me. It is time for a fresh challenge and that’s why I chose India.”
The ex Wisla Krakow ace will start training with his new teammates on Monday, February 17.

Ekwueme represented many Polish clubs, including biggest firms in the country such as Legia Warsaw, Polonia Warsaw and Wisla Cracow. Lately he played for second-tier Flota Swinoujscie, but in January terminated his contract by mutual agreement.
After that Ekwueme tried to find a new club in Europe. He was on trials in Finand, but all of them were unsuccessful, so he started to thinking about other parts of the world.
Finally he got in touch with Sporting Clube de Goa and now is finalizing formalities. Sporting Club de Goa are on 2nd place in India I-League with 27 points after 14 games..
He has represented Nigerian National team on 10 occassion and managed to score 2 goals for the team
