Airtel I-League:Sporting Clube de Goa held by Churchill Brothers

Sporting Clube de Goa was held to a 1-1 draw by Churchill Brothers Sports Club in the Aiff’s I-league at PJN Stadium, Fatorda on Sunday.

 The match was goalless at the interval.Sporting Goa started the game brightly, but fell short in the final third of the field, playing only with a single striker in Boima Jerry Karpeh.As the first half progressed, Churchill started to dominate with Jaison Vales, Shabana and Anthony Wolfe linking up well.

Changing over, Sporting Goa again increased the tempo, with Cajetan Fernandes moving well down the right side, enjoying the support of Velito D’Cruz.Churchill finally broke the dead lock in the 72^nd minute, with a delightful strike into the corner of the net from Anthony Wolfe.Eight minutes later, Boima Jerry karpeh showed his class as he turned inside the box to fire in the equalizer for the Flaming Oranje.

The last ten minutes was frantic as both teams went in search of the winner, but in the end had to settle for a point each.Sporting Clube de Goa midfielder, Velito D’Cruz was adjudged the man of the match.
