According to Sports Rooter, West Ham want to bring back Manchester United duo Rio Ferdinand and Michael Carrick this summer.
The Hammers are looking to offer a short term deal to Rio Ferdinand if Manchester United do not offer him a new contract. The centre-back made 158 appearances for West Ham before signing for Leeds United .
West Ham boss Sam Allardyce is also interested in signing Michael Carrick, who is said to be a player David Moyes may be ready to offload with the others who could be part of a major clear-out.
The 32 year old midfielder has only over a year left on his current contract and the fact that no new deal has been offered may be a sign that the he is no longer a part of David Moyes’s plans.
Carrick also spent five seasons with West Ham making 159 appearances before he left the club for Tottenham back in 2004.
