Ashley Cole bids farewell to England team

Ashley Cole the struggling Left back announced his retirement from International football after he was informed by Roy Hodgson (Manager – England Football team) that he will not be included in the World cup squad. He has won 107 caps for England in this career and considered one of the better left backs.

Cole now 33 has been struggling for playing time with his club Chelsea this season, as Jose now prefers the Spaniard Azpilicueta. This has brought to his downfall with England as they have preferred to play the inform Everton left back Leighton Baines or the Southampton sensation Luke Shaw.

Cole Twitted: "I got the call from Roy and agree England team should be about the young players. I think it best I retire from England team now."

Hodgson also respected Cole's decision to quit International Football by terming the decision as one of the most difficult.

Cole’s future with Chelsea is also in a doubt as his contract ends this year and still now there are no signs of renewal. His tweet came in after his seasons ending campaign over Cardiff which many Pundits consider his to be the last of the Chelsea innings too. He said: "Whatever happens it's been a pleasure; you Chelsea fans have been amazing to me."

Roy thus has a clear intention of taking a very young side to Brazil this year, thus giving a change at Euro 2016 which has stood a little productive compared to their world cup streak. What happens with the left back position for England still remains a question.
