Bengaluru FC Release Menyongar

Bengaluru FC Release Menyongar
The decision was taken with an eye to the next season, and according to Westwood, not renewing the contract of Menyongar was the toughest decision of his career.
“I’m looking forward to the new season now that all the celebrations are done with. Unfortunately, we have decided not to retain the services of John Menyongar,” the former Manchester United Academy Graduate told Bengaluru’s official site.
“Although we were in agreement that John played a massive part in us winning the League but as a Club we need to keep trying to improve all the time”.
The Liberian midfield maestro played an instrumental part to helping the I-League debutantes clinch the coveted title in the first season itself. He appeared in a total of 23 out of the 24 matches in the Airtel I-League 2013/14 season.
He also picked up a total of 25 caps for the Liberian National Team between 2000 and 2006, and scored five times.
Westwood thanked Menyongar for his services and wished him all the best for his future.
“We would like to thank him (Menyongar) for his professionalism and hard work and I’m sure he will get signed by another Indian club where he will be an asset without doubt,” added Westwood.
