Eastern Salon won HK FA Cup 2014

The match is separated with this last minute header from Eastern Brazilian import Giovane Da Silva.  As per post-match interview by reporter with Giovane, this is his first trophy win in a cup final in Hong Kong and he is not expecting himself to score the last minute decider.  

The game itself however, is a closely fought event with both sides got a fair share of scoring chance but it has been either save by the opposite goalkeeper (32' Kitchee Huang Yang powerful shoot is saved by Eastern Keeper) or missing an empty goal chance ('90 Eastern Monoel shooting over the bar) .  Kitchee is down to 10 man at the last minute of regulation time.  The game has to be in extra time for 30 minutes.  During the extra time Eastern has its Australia forward Macallister taking to the field and up the tempo.  While the game looks like going into penalty shootout Eastern player taking the chance to pump the ball into the six yard area and finally Giovane finish it off nicely for Eastern.

This is Eastern fouth FA Cup win and this cup brings them the chance to compete in the season end AFC Cup playoff in the expense of BC Rangers.  Also, the entire Eastern team is rewarded with a million Hong Kong dollars price money by its owner and a post season overseas trip is on the card for them as well.

Indeed Eastern is putting in a lot of effort to prepare the final and something that being thankful by their players is that the marketing team of Eastern has secretly calling up the players families to tape a video to say some support words for the players to stimulate them to play extra hard in this final.  Quite an idea and it works.  Link to the video is attached below.
