Liverpool target Cristian Tello to boost their squad for the next season |
Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Cristian Tello from FC Barcelona.
Liverpool have been linked with the Spanish winger, who can also play as a forward, since 2011 when the player was finally able to break into the Barcelona senior squad.
Tello has spent most of his time on the bench this season and Brendon Rogers' love for Spanish football, both make it highly likely that that a move for the player to Anfield is possible.
Tello signed a new contract with his present club in the summer of 2013, which has a buyout clause of €25 million. It is also believed that his contract has a clause that would raise the amount to €30 million if he plays more than 30 games for Barcelona, which he could not reach this season).
The amount would go up to €35 million if he is able to play 50 games.
As a youth player, Tello played as a central striker for several seasons. He even scored 64 goals in one campaign as a youth player.
Rogers is said to be concentrating more on strengthening the team defence for now and would look into Tello situation soon.
