Algerian team keeps their hopes alive to go through the next round as they scored a stunning 4-2 victory over Asian giants South Korea at Estadio Beira Rio in the FIFA World Cup 2014 group H match.
Algerian coach Vahid Halilhodzic made 5 changes from the previous squad ,which edge past by Belgium in the first match.The decision went well and the team had a fantastic first half ,where they scored 3 of their 4 goals.
Algeria started the match with a bang when Sofiane feghouli twisted past couple of Koreans and firing just went wide over the bar as early as 2 minutes into the match.
Islam Slimani gave the desert warriors a well desrved lead at the 25th minutes.Two minutes later Rafik Halliche made no mistake in converting a goal keeping error by Jung Sungryong to make it 2-0 lead for the Algerian over 2002 world cup semi finalist.Abdelmoumene Djabou fired a stunning 12 yard shot into the net after an excellent pass from team mate Slimani at just seven minutes before the half time.
The second half saw Korean fighting to come back to the match and they responded with a goal by play maker Son Heung -min at the 49th minutes.But the Algerians concreted their lead and 3 points when Brahmi add vital 4th goal after a clever one-two with team mate Sofiane Feghouli.
The Koreans never wanted to give up as they continued pushing toward Algerian goal and finally Koo Ja-Cheol added a second goal for the Asians when only 18 minutes left in the match.But the goal could not stop the Algerians moving into second spot in the group H behind Belgium,which already qualified for the R 16 by defeating Russia earlier in the day.
