Antonio Valencia signs new three-year deal |
Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia has signed a new three-year contract with the club.
The deal also includes an option of extending the contract until June 2018, which would make the Ecuador player stay longer at United. The 28-year-old is currently on World Cup duty with his country.
Valencia said on the club's website: "My time at Manchester United has been like a dream come true. To be the first Ecuadorian player to win the English Premier League was a very proud moment for me and for my country.
Ryan Giggs, the assistant manager, added that he was really pleased that Valencia had signed a new contract. His efforts and contribution to the team since he joined the club in 2009 has been fantastic.
Valencia made his debut for United in August 2009 and has made 191 appearances since then, scoring 21 goals for the club. He has won two EPL titles and a League Cup winner's medal.
