2014-2015 Hong Kong Premier League will begin on September 12, 2014 (Friday) with 9 teams competing for the championship in the new season based on 72 matches.
Below is the first round of fixtures:
* Some matches of the first two weeks of 2014-2015 Hong Kong Premier League will be rescheduled due to the 17th Asian Games. A new date for the games will be announced in due course.
Apart from the Senior Shield and FA Cup, HKFA will also organize the two new cup competitions - the Community Cup and the League Cup. Each of these tournaments will adopt a new format for the new season. As the curtain raiser for the new season, the Community Cup will take place on August 31, 2014. Senior Shield and League Cup will begin in late October 2014 while FA Cup in February 2015.
Season Play-Off will continue to take place in the end of 2014-2015 season, and the competition rule will be changed. The winners of League Cup, FA Cup and Senior Shield together with a runner-up of the 2014-2015 Hong Kong Premier League will compete in the tournament. If the League champion as either the cup winners, their season play off place goes to the third in the League. If the double winners (either Senior Shield, League Cup or FA Cup) as the League champion, the third and fourth-placed clubs will instead appear in the season play off. If the League champion as the treble winners of Senior Shield, League Cup and FA Cup, an extra place will go to the clubs who finish third, fourth and fifth in the Hong Kong Premier League. If the League runners-up as either the cup winners, their season play off place goes to the third in the League.
1. Clubs are not allowed to register more than six foreign players. If registered all 6 players, one of the players must have a nationality under the members of AFC (Asian Players). No more than 4 foreign players are allowed to play in the field.
2. The 1st transfer window will begin from July 11, 2014 to October 2, 2014.
3. The 2nd transfer window will begin from January 2 to January 29, 2015.
Under the new promotion and relegation system, the lowest ranking team will be relegated to First Division League and the highest ranking team will be promoted from First Division League to Hong Kong Premier League during the end season of 2014-2015 (who have achieved a Hong Kong Club Licence first).
