Kalyani group will have a new I-League team from Pune as their bid for the direct entry into the I-League has been accepted by the ALL India Football Federation bid evaluation committee that met at football house today.
There has been reportedly two bids for the direct entry and the proposal from Hyderabad based Rendezvous sports has been rejected by the evaluation committee.
As of now Kalyani group will form as the 11th team in the I-League and the corporate giant look to follow the success of Bengaluru FC that won I-League in the very first year of its inception.
They are set to become the second team from Pune in the top flight of country's football after Pune FC who has been representing the city since 2009.Mumbai FC ,an I-League team also playing their home matches in Pune due to non availability of ground in Mumbai.
So its gonna be a three team affair from the city of Pune and it has to be seen how Kalyani group can manage a successful fan base from the city.
