According to Daily Star English Premier League club Arsenal to play couple of friendly matches in India next summer.
They are likely to face Indian Super League sides FC Goa and Mumbai City FC.Both teams having foremer Arsenal players in their ranks.Former Arsenal stars Robert Pires and Andre Santos currently playing their trade for FC Goa while Freddie Ljungberg playing for Mumbai City FC in the ongoing inaugural season of Hero Indian Super League.
Team Arsenal have huge fan base in India.So their aim would be cashing on this rich popularity of English football among millions of Indians.They would try to trap this market, with the arrival of their main team to India they could boost their marketing in India to the next level
The ongoing Indian Super League have certainly increased the popularity of the game in the country.The league has crossed one million attendance in the stadium and ranked 4th position in terms of average attendance only behind Bundes Liga,EPL and Laliga.The league also enjoying tremendous TV viewership and social media presents as well.
