11 games into the Premier League and things are starting to take shape. Chelsea have shown little weakness, Southampton have defied the odds and Liverpool have (so far) failed to rebuild on the loss of Luis Suarez. So here is my team of the year 2 weeks into November and before another international break. Oh, and I am going to play a 4-1-2-1-2 to be a bit different.
COACH- Ronald Koeman
The Saints boss has proved the doubters at the beginning of the season completely wrongs. Hands up, you thought Soton were doomed to failure this season. I certainly did. Koeman didn't, what a start!
GK- Hugo Lloris
Lloris tips Courtois to this position for me. In the sticks behind a fragile Tottenham defence can be a daunting task, but Lloris has been magnificent. The amount of points Tottenham would be on if it wasn't for him would be somewhat embarrassing for the WHL faithful.
RB- Nathaniel Clyne
Clyne has been superb for the plucky Southampton defence. He has earned himself a way back into the England squad and the has been invaluable both defensively and in an attacking sense.
CB- Jose Fonte
Its hard to take it away from the Soton captain. He has played every minute so far in the PL's best defence. He easily takes the first CB spot.
CB- Phil Jagielka
Despite conceding a fair few at the beginning of the season, Everton have picked up and Jagielka has looked his solid self again. It was hard to drop the 2 Chelsea centre backs but Jagielka's goal count this year has been impressive.
LB- Cesar Azpilicueta
Despite seeing red already this season, Azpilicueta is easily into this side. You always have to include a Chelsea defender. Probably the most underrated defender in the PL, if not the world.
CDM- Nemanja Matic
I know a Chelsea fan who rates Matic incredibly highly. Matic has been Chelsea's unsung hero so far, playing part in a lot of counter attacking breakdowns but also posing a threat to the oppositions goal. Chelsea finally have a player.
RM- Alexis Sanchez
Im sticking him at RM. Sanchez is already a legend among the Arsenal fans. His goal tally is great and he is virtually carrying Arsenal so far. Impressive start to the PL for the Chilean.
LM- Stewart Downing
Some may argue he's a RM but him and Alexis can rotate if it means Downing can take a place. Steward Downing has been rewarding with an England call up and Allardyce even labelled him the best midfielder in the PL. A tad too far Sam.
CAM- Gylfi Sigurdsson
This one was hard but I'm going to pick the Swansea midfielder. Its hard to appreciate what Swansea are doing. They sit 5th in the PL. Sigurdsson has provided a lot of assists and scored a screamer against Arsenal last weekend. Well played Siggy.
ST- Diego Costa
Im giving Costa the nod ahead of Aguero. Aguero may be top scorer but Costa's early season goal spree saw Chelsea top as soon as a back was kicked. Not to mention he scored the winner at Anfield last weekend. Good start to his Chelsea career.
ST- Graziano Pelle
What a signing this guy has been. The Italian has been prolific and has more than filled the void left by Rickie Lambert. Pelle has 6 goals already but has been an absolute unit up front for Southampton.
I have missed so many so they can take place on my bench...
Bench-
Courtois
Cahill
Bertrand
Fabregas
Chadli
Sakho
Aguero
