Uruguayan world cupper Diego Forlan almost confirmed to play in the second season of Indian Super League football.
Defending champions Atletico De Kolkata are reportedly in advance talk with the player as per some sources.If everything goes according to plan then he will be the marquee player for the Kolkata based side and he will replace last season's marquee player and capatain Luis Garcia.
Recently Forlan had announced his retirement from International football and insisted he will continue to play club level football.
In his international career for Uruguay national team started from 2002 and lasted to 2014 ,he has managed to score 36 goals from 112 games he played.
His wide range experienece in club football would expected to bring much needed momentum to the Kolkata side.
His professional club career started with Argentine club Indepenediente from where he has managed to wear the colour of renowned club's such as Manchester United,Atletico Madrid and Intermilan.And currently he is playing for Japenese club Cerezo Osaka in J League.
It is learned that his relation with Atletico Madrid made him to be interested in play in India.Atletico Madrid owns some share in Kolkata based side.

He was managed to win the Golden ball for the best player in 2010 South Africa world.Interestingly after the world cup he had a visit to Kolkata for a soccer reality show oragainsed by a private channel
To defend the title ATK have been in discussion with top international players.Reportedly they were in talk with Brazilian star Kaka but the deal fell through as per some Bengali Media.
