Salgaocar Football Club's U-19 lads are looking to kick start their campaign on a winning note as they prepare to take on the challenge of Churchill brothers tomorrow in the Goa Leg of the U-19 I-League, played at Cansaulim grounds.
The team boasts of some young and very talented players.
The mainstays include goalkeeper Albino Gomes who was first choice keeper for Goa-India squad that won gold at the just concluded Lusofonia Games, Albino Pereira, top scorer at last year's edition of the U-19 I-League and already part of the senior squad, Jos Joaquim Vaz, just been called up to the U-22 India probable camp and Rayman Fernandes, both of whom also feature for the first team.
"The boys have trained hard over the last few months and we will hopefully get off to a winning start," expressed a confident coach Joaquim Crasto.
The format of the league has been changed this year with teams being split into groups for the preliminaries being played on a home and away basis.
The winner from each group shall progress to the final round in Jamshedpur scheduled for April.

Striker: Albino Pereira, James Fernandes, Prestley Colaco, Alston Mendes, Myron Borges, Jason Barbosa & Mensano Rodrigues.
