Match Preview : Norwich City Host Liverpool On Match Day 35

Liverpool go to Norwich City with high hopes; the slip in form of their title rivals could give them the chance to capitalize and increase their lead. But as the season comes to the end, the games become unpredictable and hard. A win would put them five points clear of Chelsea at the top and nine clear of City till they play West Brom on Tuesday.

Will This Be Suarez Show Again?

Liverpool have had a good week. They beat Manchester City 3-2 on the 25th Anniversary Of The Hillsborough Tragedy, City went on to draw against Sunderland, and Chelsea lost a Premier League

game at home for the first time with Jose Mourinho at the helm, again against Sunderland. These results have given Liverpool a huge boost and they could go on and lose to Chelsea, win the other three and still win the title.

First of those deciding three fixtures is Norwich City. Liverpool vs Norwich has been Luis Suarez' favourite fixture. He has a downright outrageous goal scoring record against them, and wrote history as the first ever Liverpool player to score a hat-trick of hat-tricks against a single opposition. The Liverpool talisman has gone without scoring any goals for a couple of games, but with Daniel Sturridge out of action with a tight hamstring, he will be the primary goal threat for the game. Can the Uruguayan keep up his phenomenal record against the Canaries?

Relegation threatened threatening opposition?

If there's something that you can learn from the past week, it's this : never underestimate your opponents. Who would've thought that the title favourites would draw against Sunderland, a team almost doomed to be relegated at such a crucial point of the season? Who would've thought that the last placed team of the league, Sunderland, will be the one to end Jose Mourinho's legendary 78 match unbeaten PL record at home? This unpredictability of the end of the season is what makes it all the more entertaining and beautiful.

Liverpool are up an opposition similar to that of the Black Cats. After enduring a disappointing season so far, and with none of their strikers finding the net properly, Norwich desperately need points to be in the Premier League next season. Their final run-in is daunting; but Norwich will give their all and try to make an upset. The Canaries' defensive record has been very good this season at home, conceding just 13 goals in 17 games. They will hope to keep Suarez and Co. at bay and increase their chances.

Predicted Line-Ups And Injury News

Liverpool :
Liverpool will be without the likes of Jordan Henderson who is suspended for three games due to a direct red card last game. Liverpool may also miss Daniel Sturridge who is reported as having a tight hamstring. Jose Enrique is still getting treated. Brendan could start both Allen and Lucas, but he would have offensive options in Moses and Aspas too.

Starting XI : Mignolet 22, Johnson 02, Skrtel 37, Sakho 17, Flanagan 38, Gerrard 08, Allen 24, Lucas 21, Coutinho 10, Sterling 31, Suarez 07, Sturridge 15

Norwich City :
On the injury front, the only notable absentee for the home side is Elliot Bennett who is likely to miss out with a knee injury, but could be fit enough for next week's trip to Old Trafford.

Starting XI : Ruddy, Whittaker, Martin R, Turner, 23 Martin Olsson, Johnson, 10 Fer, Howson, Snodgrass,van Wolfswinkel

Norwich : DLWLLL

Prediction :

Norwich 0-3 Liverpool

Liverpool have all the quality necessary to win this match. They have won ten matches in a row while Norwich have lost the last three, having failed to score in any. If Liverpool can score 3 against City, 3 against United, 4 against Everton, 5 against Arsenal and Tottenham, they can score against Norwich too. This won't be easy and Norwich will have them tensed for some time, but Liverpool will eventually run out as winners.
