Dinthar FC have won against Reitlang FC courtesy of a goal from Zico Zoremsanga. Dinthar FC have 26 points and are one of the favourites to reach the MPL final ending all hope for fourth place Mizoram Police to reach the final. The Saturday night match was exciting and was surrounded by controversies regarding the incident by the end of the first half.
The last match of the round 13 of the Mahindra 2 Wheelers Mizoram Premier League between Dinthar FC and Reitlang FC was decided by Zico's 18 minute goal while Dinthar defender Ronald Zothanzama was the man of the match.
MPL defending champion Dinthar FC started well and within the first 10 minutes R Laldanmawia managed to miss to good chances to score while Laldampuia missed a good chance too. Reitlang FC regained their confidence and captain Chhanrinpianga had a chance but his shot went wide. Right winger H Lalzawmliana's cross found Jessie Lalrinpuia whose header was well saved by Dinthar keeper Zothanmawia. Dinthar FC were good in the counter attack and Zico's wonderful cross was headed wide of the goal by Danmawia. Reitlang FCJessie missed another good chance to score while Valrina's well taken corner was missed by Cho Tsering Lepcha and the chance went begging.
In the 18th minute Dinthar FC made a counter attack and Lalmuansanga's pass found Lalnumawia whose effort hit the crossbar but Zico was there at the right place at the right time to tuck the ball into the back of the net. He scored the winner against Luangmual FC and Chanmari West FC in the previous fixtures. At 41 minutes Reitlang FC forward Cho scored a great goal only to be ruled out for offside. By the end of the first half Ramnunsanga elbowed Reitlang FC Cameroon midfielder Partick Enondji but the Dinthar defender was not even shown a card while it had been a red card offence written all over it. The referee allowed the game to be played on while Cho who had the ball looked like kicking the Dinthar FC defender Ronald and it was followed by a brief pushing and shoving among the players. Ronald and Cho were both given a yellow card.
Dinthar FC continued to dominate in the second half and Danmawia's goal was ruled out for offside while the MPL Best player missed another good opportunity to score. Mawitea and substitute Ramengmawia also missed a couple of good chances. Reitlang FC had a handful of attempts but none of them troubled keeper T Mawia.
