TheFootballlink Sport kicked off the third season of the Junior League on 19th April at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium. Director General of the Sports Authority of India, Mr. Jiji Thompson attended the inauguration of the league which plays host to over 500 children from various schools and academies across Delhi/NCR. 25 matches were played in the Under-9, Under-12, Under-14, Under-16 and Under-19 age categories over the weekend.
The league aims to promote the sport of football for a healthy lifestyle as a build up to the much-awaited FIFA World Cup in Brazil, later this year. The league is powered by Chevrolet, with Adidas as the Equipment Partner, Sunday Guardian as the Associate Partner, Midascare as the Pharmaceutical Partner, Portea as the Physiotherapy Partner, Rooh Afza as the Refreshment Partner and McVitie’s as the Biscuit Partner. In addition, Sports Authority of India is the Sport Partner, Delhi Soccer Association is the Official Partner and Football Players Association of India is an Associate Partner.
The next league day is 27th April and the league officially concludes on the 18th of May.
