Kitchee to face Eastern Salon today in the title decider!

Kitchee to up against Eastern Salon in the prestigious HKFA Fa Cup final
Big-spending Eastern Salon and newly-crowned league-title winner Kitchee will come head-to-head on Sunday afternoon in Hong Kong Stadium for the prestigious FA Cup trophy. Kick-off time for the highly-anticipated cup-final will be at 3:00pm.

Big-spending Eastern Salon created lots of noise in its long-waited return to the First Division circuit. However, results have been mixed with only a disappointing 6th position in the league table to show for. The FA Cup remains its last opportunity for seasonal glory and the Eastern Salon hot-shots will be coming out with all guns blazing. In addition, the FA Cup trophy also serves as the last-remaining route for the historic side to make it to the end of season playoffs, as the winner from the playoffs will be entitled to an AFC Cup berth next season.

Defensive lynchpin Roberto Fronza knows fully well what is at stake for Eastern Salon in the FA Cup Final. “Without a doubt, this is our game of the year with the FA Cup trophy and the playoffs qualification at stake,” the Brazilian veteran stated. “I see this as a very even 50-50 final against Kitchee. We are very hungry, focused and will come out gunning for a victory.”

Kitchee has been for the most part unstoppable this season. The side cruised through a title-winning campaign by staying undefeated in the league fixtures, as well as making it to the final 8 of the AFC Cup two seasons in a row. The team will be eager to put icing on the cake by defeating Eastern Salon on the weekend and taking home the prestigious FA Cup trophy.

Attacker Alexander Akande trusts his team can finish off a superb season by picking up the FA Cup trophy. “The team is doing very well at the moment and we have all been working very hard,” Akande commented. “The club’s objective in the preseason was to pick up as many trophies as possible. The players are very committed to the task and we all understand what we need to do. I do not know what is happening within the Eastern Salon camp but I firmly believe that we have good enough players to come out on top in the weekend.”
