South China and Eastern Salon will turn back the clock for another classic battle from the yester years on Saturday afternoon in Hong Kong Stadium. The match will kick-off at 2:30pm.
The Caroliners came off a league upset against BC Rangers on Wednesday afternoon and will need to battle the fatigue factor while facing Eastern Salon this weekend. However, South China has quality players throughout the team and should be able to handle the hectic playing schedule with ease; Eastern Salon recent progressed to the FA Cup Final and will be coming into this game on a high. The team is known for its big-game experience as well as potent firepower, and should prove to be a handful opponent for the Caroliners.
Kitchee will face off against I-Sky Yuen Long in Mongkok Stadium later in the day. The match will take place in Mongkok Stadium with a starting time of 5:30pm.
Matthew Lam, Kitchee’s midfield lynchpin, maintains his side is hungry to close out the season by winning all of its remaining games. “It is true that we have already won the league title but as a team, we want to finish the season undefeated,” Lam pointed out. “It is all about staying serious, focused and be professional about it. At the end, it is up to us players to go out, play the game and get the job done.”
I-Sky Yuen Long’s hard-as-nails defender Chiu Chun-kit states that he and his teammates will also be battling hard in this game. “Our coaching staff has instilled a win-every game mentality in us,” Chiu explained. “Heading into different games, the tactics might be different but our hunger to finish on top remains the same. We also want to see teammate Wellingsson De Souza picking up the scoring title but at the same time, we will not be giving him too much pressure on the subject matter.”
BC Rangers will host Royal Southern on Sunday afternoon in Sham Shui Po Sports Ground. Kick-off time for the match will be at 2:30pm.
BC Rangers pulled off an upset victory against South China midweek. Confidence for the young BC Rangers side will be on a soaring-high and the team should give Royal Southern all they could handle on this weekend; Royal Southern crashed out of the FA Cup Semi Final last weekend but this is a team full of players with strong characters. There is little doubt that the team will like to redeem itself with a victory against BC Rangers this weekend.
Lowly Citizen will take on Sun Pegasus later on the day in Tsing Yi Sports Ground to round out this weekend’s league fixtures. The match will start at 5:30pm.
The home game is Citizen’s season finale and much has been speculated about the team’s future heading into the summer. Careers and professional pride will be at stake for the Citizen players and they should come out with a point to prove in this game; Sun Pegasus currently sits on the 2nd position in the league and will likely keep the Citizen defenders very busy on Sunday afternoon.
