Royal Wahingdoh FC has created history by introducing the first professional women's football team from Meghalaya. As part of the club's youth development programme headed by coach Bobby Nongbet, the women's team came together in the early part of June 2014.
AFC C License coach and National Institute of sports diploma holder Iaikyntiew Nongkynrih has taken charge of the women's squad which comprises of girls between the ages of 12 to 16 years.
The team has been formed to provide young girls exposure through professional training in football and to groom young female football enthusiasts for future tournaments and coaching opportunities.
