If everything goes according to plan, women's football India is all set for new proffessional touch as All India Football Federation is preparing to start a new ISL style franchisee based professional football league next year.
According to reports, the proposed league, which would start with the help of FIFA,has already generated some interest among I-League and ISL clubs. It has been reported that I-League side Bengaluru FC and Pune FC have shown their interest to take part in this league.
Meanwhile there are reports which suggests that along with Bengaluru FC and Pune FC,Bharat FC,Shillong Lajong FC and Kerala side Wayanad FC have also expressed their interest in the league.
AIFF is planning to implement a player draft system for this league just like what we had in inaugural Hero Indian Super League
When contacted,a Wayanad FC official refused to comment on this.He said it is a big deal and they will announce their plan once something concrete has happened.
Actually this venture is a FIFA project for Women's football development in India.
