The Future of Wayne Rooney.?

As the winter transfer window approaches as does the option for United to buy a striker. In my opinion the weakest part of the team is the attack, in the BPL so far United have scored 19 goals and had a fantastic 8 clean sheets, 62%.

Rooney is undoubtedly one of the best united players with 237 goals for the club in 498 appearances, however in recent games he has been struggling for form scoring only 7 goals in 17 starts ( plus 1 appearance off the bench). He has often failed to impress seeming not to work off the ball to create chances for himself and others, unlike some of the other younger signings such as Martial and Memphis who have both impressed in their early appearances.

Although they need to mature as players they are still young (19 and 21) and have lots of time to learn. But it is a worry that Rooney is now older and definitely doesn't have time to improve and we can certainly say that he is past his prime with some commentators saying he looks like he is 'running through treacle'. With rumours of an exit to china I wonder what will happen to him in the future.
