Maharashtra Under-17 Girls cruised into the semifinals with a comfortable 3-0 win over Madhya Pradesh in the Pune FC-59th SGFI National Football Championship, at the Balewadi Sports Complex (Warm Up ground), on Tuesday.
Goals from Zarastin Mistry (14th minute), Komal Deokule (25th) and Karen Paes (48th) sent the hosts into the final four.
Maharashtra’s other teams, Under-19 Girls and Under-19 Boys, suffered exits in the quarterfinal stage. The girls went down 0-4 to Tamil Nadu while the boys suffered a penalty-shootout heartbreak going down 0-3 in the tiebreaker after being tied 1-1 at full time with IPSC.
